What our clients say about us

“As a patient who suffers from a mental illness a trip to the dentist could very easily turn in to days of anxiety and stress. But from the moment I rang for an appointment to the end of my treatment the staff put me at ease and nothing was too much trouble. I have gone from a very nervous patient to someone who can now eat pain free many thanks to you all at the practice”

Fillings, Crowns & Restorations

Composite/ White Fillings

Improve your smile and your confidence by using white fillings for a natural look.

White fillings are an alternative to the traditional, silver amalgam fillings you may have been familiar with in the past.

White fillings can be applied to both front and back teeth and are used to reconstruct damaged or decaying teeth and blend beautifully with your natural teeth. The white composite material is matched to the colour of your natural tooth. This is an aesthetically pleasing solution compared to traditional amalgam fillings. Here at Thrapston Dental Centre our expert dentists can use white fillings to replace old silver fillings, so you can smile with total confidence.

If you have noticed any tooth decay or are experiencing any toothaches, please contact us immediately on 01832 731118 for an initial consultation.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are used to replace missing teeth, using the surrounding natural teeth for support.

The dental bridge will be matched to the colour of your natural smile.

Here at Thrapston Dental Centre we offer:

  • Adhesive: Attached to the inside of the nearby teeth.
  • Regular: Supported by adjacent teeth, which are shaped to support it before the bridge is cemented in place.
  • Resin-attached: Secured to a neighbouring tooth using a resin-coated ‘wing’.
  • Implant-retained: Restores missing teeth using dental implants.

Porcelain Crowns

Here at Thrapston Dental Centre we use crowns and/or veneers to change your smile if you have imperfections with your teeth such as discolouration, broken or uneven teeth.

We use the highest bespoke quality porcelain crowns to bring your natural smile. Each crown is uniquely made by one of our experienced dental technicians. A crown, which is commonly referred to as a ‘Cap’ is used as the ideal way to restore a natural looking tooth. The reasons we may crown a tooth are because:

  • The tooth is broken and cannot be restored with a filling
  • The tooth is heavily filled and cannot be restored by another filling
  • The tooth is discoloured due to a root canal treatment
  • The tooth is discoloured due to fillings
  • You do not like the natural shape or alignment of your teeth and want to cosmetically change your smile by crowning more than one tooth
If you believe you could benefit from dental crowns, please contact our team on 01832 731118.

Inlays and Onlays

Porcelain inlays and onlays can be used to restore teeth that require large fillings. They provide excellent cosmetic results, along with increased strength and durability. The inlay and onlay are bonded onto the tooth in order to prevent further deterioration

To find out if inlays and onlays are the ideal treatment option to restore your tooth, call us on 01832 731118

Root Canal Treatments

Root canal treatment involves removing the tooth’s pulp (a tissue that lies in the centre of the tooth) if it has become infected.

This treatment is revolutionary as it means we can save your tooth and restore it back to full health with a root canal filling, rather than removing the tooth and leaving a gap in your smile.

If you have any questions at all, our warm and friendly team will always be on hand to guide and support you through every moment of your time spent with us.

Tooth Extraction

Here at Thrapston Dental Centre, we care about your smile and will only extract a tooth when there is no other option, or when it’s the best possible treatment choice for your individual case.

When you visit one of our experienced dentists, we’ll sit down with you to help you decide on the best treatment for your needs. If together we decide that tooth extraction is the best option, we’ll talk you through the process.

TOOTH EXTRACTION AFTERCARE TIPS

We will give you plenty of aftercare advice once your treatment is complete and you’re relaxing in our comfortable environment, but here are our recommendations on how to take care of your gums when you’ve had a tooth removed:

  • Avoid hot food for the first 24 hours, and refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol
  • Avoid rinsing your mouth out for the first 24 hours, but when you do come to rinse, use warm saltwater (you’ll only need half a teaspoon of salt)
  • Brush and floss your other teeth as you would normally
  • If you experience any soreness, take over-the-counter painkillers to provide relief

If you’re still feeling pain a few days after your surgery, please come back to see us as soon as possible, so that we can soothe any soreness and help to speed up your recovery.

Do you have a tooth that’s causing you pain? If you think you could benefit from tooth removal, or want to explore other options, give us a call on 01832 731118. We’d love to have a chat with you and discover the best way to restore your smile.
